Stair Runners
Stair Runners Supplied and Fitted Across Surrey
Made-to-measure stair runners, bound or whipped at the edges and fitted with or without stair rods, across Surrey, West Sussex and Hampshire.
A stair runner shows off the staircase and protects it at the same time. We supply and fit runners cut from wool, wool-blend and patterned carpets, finished with binding or whipping along the edges so they are made to measure for your stairs.
We fit straight flights, winders and half landings, and can carry the runner onto the landing. Choose a Hollywood (waterfall) or wrapped fitting, with or without decorative stair rods in brass, chrome, nickel or black.
We measure each staircase in person, bring runner and carpet samples, and help you decide on width, border and edge finish so the runner sits evenly on every tread.

What to consider
Honest advice before you commit.
Width and border
We help you choose how much of the tread shows on each side so the runner looks balanced.
Winders and landings
Turning stairs need careful cutting and fitting; we survey them at the measure.
Wear on stairs
Stairs take the most wear in the house — wool and tight-loop constructions last longest.
Underlay
A good stair underlay adds comfort and helps the runner last.
Pricing guidance
What affects your fitted price.
Every home is different, so we price after a free measure rather than advertise a misleading headline rate. Your written quotation itemises the product, preparation, accessories and fitting.
Carpet choice
Fibre, pattern and quality vary between ranges.
Edge finish
Binding type, whipping and border width affect the making-up cost.
Staircase
Number of steps, winders and landings affect fitting time.
Rods and fittings
Stair rods are optional and priced by finish.
Common questions
Quick answers.
- Can you fit a stair runner on winding stairs?
- Yes. We fit runners on winders and half landings, cutting and shaping each step so the borders stay even.
- What's the best carpet for a stair runner?
- Wool or wool-blend in a tight loop or short cut pile is hard-wearing and holds its shape on the nosing. Natural fibres like sisal also work well.
- Do I need stair rods?
- No — rods are decorative. The runner is fixed securely with or without them.
- Can the runner be made from any carpet?
- Most broadloom carpets can be cut and bound or whipped into a runner. We'll advise which suit stairs best when we bring samples.
We'll bring the samples to your home.
