Wool twist carpet fitted wall to wall in an elegant period drawing room

Wool and wool-rich carpets, measured and fitted

Cormar, Westex, Axminster, Brockway and Penthouse — supplied and fitted across Surrey, West Sussex and Hampshire.

A carpet is the single biggest change you can make to how a room feels. It softens acoustics, holds warmth and gives a house that settled, lived-in quality no hard floor quite manages. Getting it right is less about the swatch than about the specification behind it — fibre, pile construction, weight and underlay all matter more than colour once the floor is down.

We're an independent flooring company, which means we recommend on merit rather than on whichever supplier is running a promotion. We bring a full sample case to your home so you can see wools, twists and loops in your own light, against your own walls, before deciding anything.

Every quote includes accurate measuring, planning of seam positions, underlay, gripper, door bars and fitting by our own team. Old flooring can be lifted and taken away, and doors trimmed where a thicker pile needs the clearance.

The range

Choosing the right specification.

80/20 wool twist

The classic British specification — 80% wool for resilience and warmth, 20% synthetic for strength. Ideal for lounges, stairs and landings.

Pure wool loop & Berber

Textured, natural and understated. Beautiful in period homes and quiet rooms; best kept away from pet claws.

Polypropylene twist

Bleach-cleanable and stain-resistant. The sensible answer for young families, playrooms and busy hallways.

Saxony & deep pile

Luxurious underfoot in bedrooms and principal suites. Softer fibres, lower traffic tolerance.

Striped & patterned

Runners and full-room stripes from Westex and Axminster, pattern-matched carefully on stairs.

Stair runners

Fitted with rods or fully bound to your chosen width, with a mitred finish on winders.

What to consider

Honest advice before you commit.

Underlay is not an upsell

A good 10–11mm PU underlay extends the life of the carpet above it and transforms how it feels. We quote it openly rather than hiding it in the rate.

Stairs need heavier specification

Stairs take the most wear in any house. We usually recommend a heavier twist there even where a softer pile suits the bedrooms.

Wool and pets

Wool is superb but loop constructions snag on claws. With cats or dogs we steer towards a twist pile or bleach-cleanable polypropylene.

Seams and room shape

Carpet comes in 4m and 5m widths. Where a room is wider we plan seams to fall away from sightlines and traffic paths.

Common questions

Quick answers.

Do you have a showroom?
No — we bring the showroom to you. We visit your home with hundreds of carpet samples, measure every room and give you a written quotation, all free of charge.
How long does carpet fitting take?
Most homes are fitted in a single day. A whole-house recarpet or a large stair-and-landing job may run into a second day. We confirm timings when we quote.
Do you move furniture?
Yes. Our fitters move standard furniture as part of the fit. We ask that you empty wardrobes, drawers and any fragile or electrical items beforehand.
Which carpet is best for a busy family home?
An 80/20 wool twist or a bleach-cleanable polypropylene twist. Both resist flattening in traffic areas and clean well after spills.
Where do you fit carpets?
Across Surrey, West Sussex and Hampshire — including Cranleigh, Guildford, Godalming, Horsham, Dorking, Farnham, Haslemere, Billingshurst and the surrounding villages.
